Story
TrooperAlbert Allen (Service no. 535) was born about 1892. At the time of his enlistment he was residing in Mount Kembla with his brother.
After enlisting in the AIF he embarked with B Squadron 6th Light Horse Regiment on HMAT A29 Suevic on 21st December, 1914.
After training in Egypt he went to Gallipoli and on 15th May, 1915 he was wounded in action. Albert received a gun shot wound to the head. He was evacuated to Egypt to hospital and in August returned to Australia. On 10th December, 1915 he was discharged medically unfit from the AIF.
In 1916 he married Ada Allibin in Wollongong. He later died at his home in Yagoona in 1956. He is buried at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, Botany - Roman Catholic 21, FM 21-1672.
