Story

Private James Allan (Service no. 875)was born in Mount Kembla in 1893. He enlisted in theAIF at Blackboy Hill, Western Australia. He embarked with CCompany, 32nd Battalion on 18th November, 1915 on the HMAT A2 Geelong. On arrival in Egypt he was transferred to 2nd Field Bakery and served on the Western Front with them for the duration of the war.

While he was not wounded he had a number of hospital admissions due to illness. He returned to Australia in April 1919 and was discharged from the AIF on 20th July, 1919.

In 1920 at Collie in Western Australiahe married Ada Hallingren.

He remained in Western Australia and died on 28th October, 1961.
