Story
William Artis (Service No 21680) was born in Bulli, NSW around 1883.
William had moved to Donnybrook in Western Australia and enlisted in Perth at the age of 33. He was married, to Phoebe Louisa nee Clawes, and worked as a draper.
He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A54 Runic with Engineering Field Companies General Reinforcements on 22nd March 1918.
William arrived in England on 24th May 1918 and served in England with the Engineers.
He returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged on 23rd July 1919.
After the war William owned and operated a hotel in Subiaco, W.A.
