Story
Emanuel Rea was born in Bathurst about 1882. He was a single 32 year old electrician from Dunmore when he enlisted. He served 6 months with D Company, Special Tropical Force at Rabaul (Service No 1022).
He then enlisted in the AIF on 17th April 1915 (Service No 1591) and embarked on HMAT A32 Themistocles with 1st Reinforcement, 19th Battalion on 12th May 1915. Unfortunately Emanuel did not get to the fighting as he died, after developing appendicitis, on 7 June 1915 and was buried at sea.
