Story
Selwyn Rogan (Service No 1086) was a single 21 year old labourer from Albion Park, NSW. He enlisted in South Australia just a month after war was declared.
Selwyn embarked on HMAT A40 Ceramic from Melbourne on 22nd December 1914 with F Company, 16th Battalion. He arrived in Egypt and after training left for Gallipoli with A Company, 16th Battalion, arriving on 25th April.
Selwyn took part in the early fighting and while he was not wounded, like many others he became ill. He contracted enteric fever and was evacuated to hospital at Gibraltar. On 11th August 1915 he died from this illness.
Selwyn is buried in North Front Cemetery Gibralter Row C, Grave 3047. His service is commemorated on the Albion Park Anglican Church Honour Roll.
