Story
Roy Robertson was a single 18 year old shop hand from Scarborough, NSW, when he enlisted. He embarked on HMAT A61 Kanowna on 19th June 1915 with 2nd Reinforcements, 20th Battalion.
After arriving in Egypt he was sent to Gallipoli. Roy was at Russells Top when he was killed and is buried in Walkers Ridge Cemetery, the actual grave is unknown.
His brother James Robertson (Service No 3221) was captured by the Germans and became a prisoner of war. He returned to Australia in March 1919.
