Story
Gordon Redcliffe (Service No 1749) was born in Bulli, NSW, about 1894. He became a ward of the state at a young age after his father deserted the family. He eventually moved in with his older brother Percy. At the time of enlistment he was a single 21 year old labourer.
He embarked on HMAT A61 Kanowna with 2nd Reinforcements, 19th Battalion on 19th June 1915. Soon after arriving on Gallipoli he was evacuated sick. He returned to Gallipoli on 28th September but was killed on 1st November. He is buried in Shrapnel Valley Cemetery Plot I, Row B, Grave 2.
