Story

Cecil Perrott (Service No 962) was born in Brownsville about 1888. At the time of enlistment he was a single 26 year old clerk.

He embarked on HMAT A40 Ceramic with C Company, 18th Battalion on 25th June 1915. He trained in Egypt and arrived on Gallipoli on 16th August 1915. Cecil missed the Lone Pine battle but took part in the fight for Hill 60. He was killed in a charge on the Turkish trenches and is believed to have been buried by the Turks.

It seems he had been promoted to Cpl but was killed before it took effect. Cecil is remembered on the Lone Pine Memorial.
