Story
Horace Eagleton (Service No 2823)was born in Aberdeen, NSWaround 1898.
Heenlisted in Wollongong, NSWwhen he was18 years old. He was a single man, andworked as alabourer.Horace's parents, who lived in Market Street, Wollongong,signed a letter on 21 August 1915giving their permission for him to enlist.
Horace embarked on HMAT A14 Euripides with the 6th Reinforcement, 17th Battalion on 2nd November 1915.
After arriving in Egypt he was transferred to the Artillery and saw service with them on the Western Front.
Horace returned to Australia in May 1919 and was discharged on 23rd August 1919.
In 1919 he married Mary O'Sullivan in Wollongong.
