William Greer (Service no 103) was born in Brewarrina, NSW in 1894.

At the time of enlistment at Victoria Barracks, Sydney, NSW William was single and 20 years of age.  He embarked on HMAT A8 - Argyllshire with the Field Artillery Brigade, Battery 1 on 18 October 1914.  William arrived in Egypt in December 1914 and after training was transferred to Gallipoli, Turkey where he landed on 25 April 1915.

William served on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey until he was evacuated with dysentry on 27 August 1915.  He rejoined his unit in Egypt on 15 January 1916 and with his unit was posted to France on 27 March 1916.  William saw service on the Western Front and returned to Australia in November 1918 on Special1914 leave.

William was discharged on 29 March 1919 and married Zeta Cooper in Sydney, NSW on 22 January 1919. Together they had 2 children and William died in 1986.
