Stanley Corbett (Service no 375) was born in Wallsend, NSW in 1890. The family came to the Illawarra where his father died in 1912 while living at Woonona, NSW.

At the time of enlistment Stanley was single, 25 years of age, employed as a mechanic, had previously served 2 years with the Militia. 

Stanley embarked on HMAT A46 - Clan Macgilliveray with the ANZAC Cyclist Battalion, 2nd Reinforcements on 3 May 1916.  He arrived in France on 17 July 1916 and was transferred to the  1st Battalion, B Company on 27 August 1916.

On 22 September 1916, Stanley was evacuated from the field to hospital with bronchitis.  This became chronic and turned to pleurisy. 

Stanley was returned to Australia in March 1917 and medically discharged on 6 June 1917.

On 24 December 1917 he married Sophia Grills in Coledale, NSW and together they raised 2 sons. They moved to Sydney and Stanley died there in 1946.
