Francis Edens (Service No 62) was born in Lithgow, N.S.W. around 1891.

At enlistment Francis was single, 25 years old, worked as railway employee.  At some time, Francis has lived and worked in the Helensburgh/ Scarborough area of N.S.W.

He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire with the Railway Unit, 1st Section on 7th February 1917.  He arrived in England on 12th April 1917 and joined his unit in France on 14th May 1917.

Francis saw service on the Western Front serving until his return to Australia in June 1919.  He was discharged on 14th September 1919.

In 1927 he married Marjorie Gordon in Ryde.

Francis died in Sydney in 1948.
