Thomas McFadden (Service No 2713) was born in Kiama, N.S.W.

Thomas enlisted in Brisbane when he was 24 years old; he was single and worked as a labourer.  He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A40 Ceramic with 52nd Battalion, 6th Reinforcement on 7th October 1916, and arrived in England on 21st November 1916.

Prior to enlistment, Thomas sustained a foot injury and deemed not fit for active service, however, on 8th May 1917 he was attached to the Anzac Provost Corps (Military Police) and served in England.

Thomas was admitted to hospital suffering from diptheria on 28th February 1918, but returned to duty in late March.

He was promoted to Corporal on 14th June 1919 and returned to Australia in March 1920, and discharged from the AIF on 23rd April 1920.

Thomas married Anna Lindblad in 1926 and they raised 3 children.

He enlisted for service in World War II on 28th November 1940 and served as a Corporal (Service No N100848) with 2nd Australian Engineers, Store Base Depot until 11th January 1946.

Thomas died in Sydney in 1953.
