Henry Gordon Miller (Service No 1641) was born in Gerringong, N.S.W., in March 1893.

At enlistment he was 22 years old, single, worked as a farmer and lived in Gerringong, N.S.W.

On 18th November 1915, Henry embarked on HMAT A34 Persic with the 6th Light Horse Regiment, 12th Reinforcement. He disembarked in Egypt on 29th December 1915 and was posted to B Squadron. Henry saw service in Egypt and the Middle East as a Hotchkiss Gunner.

In June1917, Henry's brother George Miller (Service No 3128) arrived in Egypt. and on 15th October 1917. Henry joined his brother in the Australian Army Service Corps Divisional Train, 38th Company, on 19th May 1918. He was promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant on the 10th November 1918. Henry remained in Egypt at Headquarters until he was returned to Australia in December 1919. He was discharged on 15th January 1920.

On 6th December 1924, Henry married Elsie Nelson, in Gerringong, N.S.W.

Henry died in 1975 and is buried in Gerringong Cemetery, Gerringong, N.S.W. 

Henry is commemorated for his service on the Honour Rolls at the Gerringong Soldiers Memorial Hall.
