Robert Missingham (Service no 3642) was born in Kiama, NSW in December 1874.

At the time of enlistment Robert was single, 41 years of age and employed as a farrier.

Robert embarked on the HMAT A69 - Warialda with Tunnelling Company 4, Headquarters 1 on 22 May 1916.  He arrived in England on 18 July 1916 and was sent to France where he joined the 1st Tunnelling Company on 25 September 1916 as a Corporal having been promoted on 28 August 1916.

On 23 April 1917, he transferred to the 2nd Field Company Engineers and served on the Western Front with them. On 22 April 1918, Robert was treated for an ankle injury.

Robrt was promoted to Sergeant on 11 June 1918 returned to Australia as acting Company Sergeant Major in June 1919 and was discharged on 17 January 1920.

On 2nd March 1932, Robert married Evelyn Toyer in Sydney and together they had one chilld. 

He worked for the Water Board after the War and died in 1953.
