Alfred Henderson (Service no 2945) was born in Kiama, NSW.

At the time of enlistment in Kiama, NSW, Alfred was single, 22 years of age and employed as a baker.  He enlisted just a few days after his half brother, John Henderson (Service no 5120).

Alfred embarked on HMAT A71 - Nestor with the 30th Battalion,  6th Reinforcements on 9 April 1916.  He arrived in England on 14 May 1916 and joined the 30th Battalion in France on 26 October 1916.   He was delayed in arriving in France due to illness.  Alfred was admitted to hospital with frostbite on 13 March 1917 and spent some time in hospital.

Alfred was repatriated to Australia in December 1918 due to Trench Fever and medically discharged on 28 March 1919.

Alfred died in Sydney in 1945.
