Henry Budgett (Service No 3017) was born in London around 1876. 

At enlistment Henry was 39 years old, single, worked as a commercial traveller and lived at Thirroul, N.S.W.  He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A29 Suevic with 18th Battalion, 7th Reinforcement on 20th December 1915.

He joined D Company of 18th Battalion in France on 19th May 1916.  Henry saw brief service on the Western Front, as he was wounded in action at Pozieres on 27th July 1916.  He was evacuated to hospital for treatment of a gun shot wound to his left arm.

Henry was returned to Australia in January 1918 and discharged medically unfit on 19th April 1918.

After the war, Henry worked as a real estate agent in Thirroul.

He died in 1965 and is buried in Point Clare Cemetery on the N.S.W. central coast.  Henry's service is commemorated at the Thirroul Woodward Memorial Park.
