Edward Myatt Service No 4384) was born in Staffordshire, England in September 1877.  He arrived in Australia some time before 1910, when he married Lilly Wust in Sydney.

At enlistment Edward was 39 years old, worked as a weighman and lived at Helensburgh, N.S.W.   He embarked from Sydney on SS Port Napier with 30th Battalion, 11th Reinforcement on 17th November 1916.  He arrived in England on 29th January 1917, remaining there until the end of 1917.  On 1st January 1918 Edward was sent to France to join 35th Battalion.

Edward saw service on the Western Front until admitted to hospital on 14th April 1918 sick with influenza.

He was returned to Australia in September 1918 and discharged from the AIF on 17th February 1919.

Edward died in Sydney in 1949.
