Daniel Hopkin
Daniel Hopkin (Service No 20171) was born in Sydney.
At enlistment he was single, 21 years old, worked as a mechanic and lived at Stanwell Park, N.S.W. Previous to enlistment, Daniel had served 3 years with 33rd Field Company Army Engineers.
Daniel embarked from Melbourne on HMAT A55 Kyarra with Cavalry Division Signal Squadron 1, Reinforcement 2 on 7th September 1917. He arrived in Bombay, India, on 10th October 1917 and then joined 1st Wireless Squadron in Basra, Iraq on 2nd November 1917 where he saw service.
Daniel was returned to Australia in March 1919 and discharged from the AIF on 25th May 1919.
On 12th June 1928 he married Mary Thomson.
Daniel died in Perth in 1969.
