Robert Price was born in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Robert initially enlisted on 11 August 1914 with the Naval & Military Expeditionary Force (Tropical Unit) and was assigned to D Company (Service No 1006); he was single, 23 years old, worked as a waiter & lived in Sydney, N.S.W.  He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A35 Berrima on 19 August 1914 and served with the Expeditionary Force in Rabual, PNG, until discharged at the rank of Lance Corporal on 4th March 1915 when his enlistment ended.

Robert next enlisted on 17 April 1915 (Service No 1586); at this time he was living in Dunmore, NSW, was 24 years of age, still single, and stated his occupation as electrical engineer. 

He embarked on from Sydney on HMAT A32 Themistocles on 12th May 1915 with 19th Battalion, 1st Reinforcements on 12th May 1915.  Shortly after he arrived in Egypt Robert became ill and was returned to Australia in July 1915.  He was subsequently  discharged medically unfit on 15th September 1915.

Robert enlisted a third time (Service No 868) on 14th November 1917.  At this time Robert listed his wife Mabel as next of kin, and listed his occupation as waiter again.  He was not posted overseas and served this enlistment in Australia; Robert suffered recurring bouts of malaria which he had contracted while working in South America, and hot weather was a trigger for the disease.  He was discharged from the AIF on 22 January 1915.

Robert died in Sydney in 1957.
