3698 Theodore Hordern (Service no 3698) was born in Kiama, NSW.

At the time of enlistment Theodore was single, 20 years of age, employed as a labourer and resided in Port Kembla, NSW.  Theodore had served 4 years with the Cadets and 18 months with the 37th Militia.

Theodore embarked on the HMAT A14 - Euripides with the 55th Battalion,  10th Reinforcements on 31 October 1917.  He arrived in England on 25 December 1917 and joined the 1st Battalion in France on 24 April 1918 where he saw service on the Western Front until the end of the War.

Theodore returned to Australia in May 1919 and was discharged on 6 August 1919.

In 1922 he married Bertha Beasley in Wollongong, NSW and later moved to Cowra, NSW.

On 7 May 194, Theodore enlisted for service in World War 2 in Cowra, NSW and served as N270140 Corporal Hordern with 8th Auxiliary Horse Transport Company until 11 April 1944.

Theodore died in 1956.
