Thomas Livingstone (Service No 4718), stated he was born in Hobart, Tasmania, around 1877.

At enlistment, he was single, 38 years old, worked as a bootmaker and lived in Helensburgh, N.S.W. 

Thomas embarked on HMAT A40 Ceramic, with 20th Battalion, 12th Reinforcement, on 13th April 1916. He arrived in England and was taken on strength of 20th Battalion, in France, on 20th October 1916. His file contains numerous entries for medical and disciplinary issues in France, Belgium and England. On 31st August 1918, Thomas was with his unit at the front, when he was wounded in action. He was evacuated to hospital in England, for treatment of a severe gun shot wound to his left arm. Thomas was returned to Australia, in January 1919, and discharged on 8th May 1919.
