John McCormick (Service no 6568) was born in Sydney, NSW.

At the time of enlistment in Kiama, NSW, John was single, 28 years of age, employed as a labourer and resided in Clifton, NSW.

John embarked on HMAT A40 - Ceramic with the 13th Battalion, 21st Reinforcements on 7 October 1916.   He arrived in England on 21 November 1916 and was then posted to France on 27 July 1917.

John was returned to Australia in July 1919 and discharged on 19 September 1919.

John died in 1974 and his death notice mentions that he was survived by his wife Ethel and their child.
