Alfred Graham (Service no 4013) was born in Manchester England in October 1893 and came to Australia with his family.

At the time of enlistment Alfred was single, 23 years of age, employed as an engineer and resided in Woonona, NSW.

Alfred embarked on HMAT A7 - Medic with the 3rd Battalion, 12th Reinforcements on 30 December 1915. He arrived in Egypt and went on to France with 3rd Battalion on 28 March 1916.

Alfred saw service on the Western Front and was wounded in action on 18 August 1916. He was evacuated to hospital in England for treatment of a gun shot wound to his left forearm and returned to his unit on 19 December 1916.

Alfred was wounded in action on 26 December 1916 and evacuated to hospital in England for treatment of a gun shot wound to his left elbow.

He was discharged from the Australian Imperial Force in London on 11th March 1917 and took employment in the munitions industry.

In December 192, Alfred married Mary Carroll annd they returned to Australia with their child in May 1922.

Alfred died in 1974.

His brother Harold Graham (Service no 3503) also served.
