William Thomson (Service no 2699) was born in Bedford, England in 1887.
At the time of enlistment, William was single, 29 years of age, resided in Bulli, NSW and employed as a labourer in Stanwell Park, NSW.
William embarked on the HMAT A24 - Benalla with the 38th Battalion, 5th Reinforcements on 9 November 1916 and arrived in England on 9 January 1917.
William remained in England and was repatriated to Australia in February 1918.
William was medically discharged due to his eyesight.
