Arthur Harold Smith (Service No 6315), was born in Bathurst, N.S.W.

At enlistment he was single, 19 years old, worked as a coach builder, lived in Wollongong and had served 2 years with 37th Infantry Cadets.

Arthur embarked on HMAT A14 Euripides, with 13th Battalion, 20th Reinforcement, on 9th September 1916. He arrived in England on 26th October 1916, and served there until 30th September 1917, when he joined 13th Battalion in the field. Arthur saw service on the Western Front and was promoted to Lance Corporal, on 26th September 1918. He returned to Australia in June 1919, and was discharged on 4th September 1919.

On 12th March 1927, Arthur married Tomena Bakke, and they had 2 children.

Arthur died in Katoomba, N.S.W., in 1969.
