Thomas Carlyle Roberts
Thomas Carlyle Roberts (Service No 29349), was born in Helensburgh, N.S.W., around 1897.
At enlistment, he was single, 18 years old, worked as a fitter and turner's apprentice and had served with the Militia.
Thomas embarked on HMAT A60 Aeneas, with Howitzer Brigade 117, on 30th September 1916. He arrived in England on 19th November 1916, and joined 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column in France, on 5th Februry 1917. He transferred to 5th Field Artillery, 14th Battery, on 30th April 1917. Thomas saw service on the Western Front, and has no wounding recorded on file. He returned to Australia in July 1919, and was discharged on 2nd October 1919.
In 1926, Thomas married Lillian Horsfall, and they had 4 children.
Thomas died in Concord, N.S.W., in 1985.
