Harold James Roberts (Service No 3894), stated he was born in Karumba, Queensland around 1894.

At enlistment he was single, 21 years old, worked as a miner, lived in Woonona, N.S.W., and had served in the Militia.

Harold embarked on HMAT A7 Medic, with 4th Battalion, 12th Reinforcement, on 30th December 1915. He arrived in Egypt in January 1916, and was transferred to 1st Battalion, Imperial Camel Corps, on 5th March 1916. He saw service in Egypt and the Middle East.

Harold returned to Australia in July 1919, and was discharged on 21st October 1919.
