Alexander Davis (Service no 5066) stated he was born in Bulli, NSW in 1898.

At enlistment Alexander was single, 18 years of age, employed as a miner and resided in Woonona, NSW and had previously served with the Senior Cadets.

Alexander embarked on HMAT A71 - Nestor with the 2nd Battalion, 16th Reinforcements on 9 April 1916.

Alexander arrived in Egypt and had health and discipline problems there in England and in France for the remainder of his service.

He was returned to Australia in September 1919 and discharged on 22 November 1919.
