At the time of enlistment Alexander Waine (Service no 58664) was married, 40 years of age, employed as an engine cleaner and resided in Wollongong, NSW.

Alexander had married Annie Connaughton in Wollongong, NSW in 1901.

Alexander embarked on HMAT A18 - Wiltshire from Adelaide, South Australia with the NSW General Reinforcements on 19 June 1918. He arrived in England on 26 August 1918 and was posted to the Reserve Brigade Australian Artillery on 7 October 1918. 

Alexander arrived in France on 3 December 1918 and served in France and England until 1919. 

Alexzander returned to Australia in August 1919 and was discharged.

Alexander died in 1948.
