Albert Gay (Service No 66560) was born in Corrimal, N.S.W.

At enlistment Albert was single, 20 years old and worked as a miner. Before enlistment Albert had served 4 years with 2nd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment Militia.

He embarked from Adelaide on HMAT A36 Boonah with 21st N.S.W. Reinforcement on 22nd October 1918. The war ended during the voyage to Europe and the ship was returned to Australia.

Albert was discharged from the AIF on 2nd February 1919.  He returned to work at the mines and did not marry.

Albert died in 1943 and is buried in Woronora Cemetery, N.S.W.
