Jack Elliott (Service No 10158) was born in Sydney, NSW in 1889. 

At the time of enlistment he was a widower, 27 years of age and employed as a baker in Wollongong, NSW.

Jack embarked on HMAT A10 - Karoo with the 19th Field Bakery, 6th Reinforcements on 5 May 1916, arriving in Egypt on 7 June 1916.  He was sent to France on 16 July 1916 and was posted to the  2nd Field Bakery on 29 July 1916.

Jack served in France until the end of the War and was returned to Australia in May 1919. He was discharged on 14th August 1919.
