Sydney Edwards (Service No 3151) was born in Sydney, NSW in 1900.

At the time of enlistment he stated he was a single, 18 years of age and employed as a Bootmaker in Wollongong, NSW and had previously served as a Cadet.

Sydney embarked on HMAT A15 - Port Sydney with the April 1917 Reinforcements on 9 May 1917. He arrived in Egypt on 20 June 1917 and was posted to the 1st Battalion, Imperial Camel Corps on 5 September 1917.

Sydney saw service in Egypt and the Middle East. He was transferred to 14th Light Horse on 1st July 1918 after a reorganisation within his Battalion.

He was returned to Australia in August 1919 where he was discharged.
