William George Edwards
William Edwards (Service No 3502) was born in Hilston, Cornwall, England in 1885 and was baptised on 11 December 1885.
William arrived in Australia in 1911 and at the time of enlistment was single, 29 years of age and employed a a miner in Helensburgh.
William embarked on HMAT A17 - Port Nicholson with the 4th Battalion, 11th Reinforcements on 13 October 1915 for Egypt.
In February 1916, William was transferred to the 56th Battalion, and on 13th May 1916 he transferred to 57th Battalion, arriving in France on 23 June 1916.
William was killed in action on 15th July 1916 and is buried in Rue-Du-Bois Military Cemetery Plot 1, Row F, Grave 5 at Fleurbaix, Pas de Calaise, France.
