Cyril Fowler (Service No 3373) was born in Greta, N.S.W.

At 19 he joined the Royal Australian Navy and served until 20th August 1919.

He was posted to HMAS Australia on 30th June 1915 and served in the North Sea until the war ended and the ship returned to Australia in 1919.

Cyril wrote a letter home to his sister in July 1917 in which he informed her of a number of Illawarra boys were serving with the Navy.

In July 1930 he became engaged to Pearl Ward and they married later that year.

Cyril died in Gosford in 1962 and is buried in Point Clare Cemetery.
