Edward Figtree (Service No 12107) was born in Sydney.

At enlistment Edward was single, 22 years old, employed as a school teacher, lived at Fairy Meadow, N.S.W. and had served in the Cadets.  He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A20 Hororata with Section B, 9th Field Ambulance on 2nd May 1915.  After arriving in England from Egypt on 23rd June 1916 Edward served there until he was sent to France on 23rd November 1916.

He saw service on the Western Front until he was returned to Australia in July 1919 and was discharged from the AIF on 7th December 1919.

After the war Edward attended Sydney University where he studied to be a medical doctor, graduating in 1925.

In 1931 he married Margaret Paterson in Parramatta, N.S.W.

Edward served as a medical practioner during World War II.

He died in Sydney in 1958.
