Albert Henry Young (Service No 3489), was born in Gerringong, N.S.W.

At enlistment, in Kiama, N.S.W., he was single, 27 years old, worked as a carrier and lived in Foxground, N.S.W.

Albert embarked on HMAT A68 Anchises, with 54th Battalion, 9th Reinforcement, on 24th January 1917 and arrived in England on 27th March. He was taken on strength of 54th Battalion, in France, on 21st October 1917. Albert saw service on the Western Front. On 11th October 1918, he was transferred to 56th Battalion, in France.

He was returned to Australia in September 1919, and discharged on 1st December 1919.

Albert died on 7th May 1952, and is buried at Woronora Cemetery, Sutherland, N.SW.
