James Hallenan (Servcie No 56982) was born in Geelong, VIC.

On 22nd May 1911, he married Louisa Searby, and they had 6 children.

At enlistment, James stated he was a 40 year old labourer living in Wollongong, N.S.W.

James embarked on HMAT A18 Wiltshire, with 3rd General Service Reinforcement NSW, on 10th June 1918. He arrived in Egypt on 17th July 1918, and was posted to 14th Light Horse Regiment.

James was deemed medically unfit, for active service on 11th November 1918.

He was returned to Australia in January 1919, and discharged medically unfit on 10th March 1919.

James died in Sydney Hospital, in 1952.
