James Henry Davy (Service No 53) was born in Bradford, England.

On 4th November 1906, he married Sarah Jackson, in Yorkshire, England, and they came to Australia after 1908. 

At enlistment, James was 30 years old, worked as a  fitters labourer, lived in Thirroul, N.S.W. and had served 4 years with the Prince of Wales Regiment.

He embarked on HMAT A18 Wiltshire, with Section 1 Railway, on 7th February 1917 and arrived in England on 11th April 1917.

James joined his unit in France, on 14th May 1917, and saw service on the Western Front. He was returned to Australia, in July 1919, and discharged on 25th September 1919.

James and Sarah had 5 children.

James died on 17th December 1942.
