Charles Nixon (Service No 6308) was born in Brisbane.  In 1910 he married Daisy Loveridge.

At enlistment Charles was 26 years old, employed as a wheeler, and lived at Helensburgh, N.S.W.  

Charles enlisTed three times: His first enlisted was on 8th May 1915 but he was discharged medically unfit due to rheumatism; On 25th October he enlisted a second time and served 2 months with the Military Police at Liverpool camp before being discharged;  His 3rd enlistment on 5th April 1916 was finally successful and he embarked from Sydney on HMAT A14 Euripides with 20th Reinforcements, 4th Battalion, on 9th September 1916.

After arriving in England on 26th October 1916 Charles joined C Company, 4th Battalion, in France on 7th February 1917.  He saw service on the Western Front but he had a number of hosptial admissions due to illness.

Chalres was returned to Australia in March 1918 after being diagnosed with chronic rheumatism and was discharged medically unfit on 19th July 1918.

He and Daisy had 6 children.

Charles died in Sydney from tuberculosis in 1921 and is buried in Woronora Cemetery, N.S.W.
