Robert Humberge (Service No 3758/ 3758A) was born in Melbourne, Victoria.

At enlistment Robert was 27 years old and worked as a signalman.  He and his wife, Maud Josephine, were living in Bourke Street, Wollongong, N.S.W.

He embarked from Sydney on HMAT A14 Euripides with 10th Reinforcements, 56th Battalion, on 31st October 1917.  The troops arrived in England on 26th December 1917 and Robert was sent on to France, arriving on 1st April 1918, where he joined 13th Battalion on 17th April.

Robert saw service on the Western Front until 30th October 1918 when he was admitted to hospital in England with trench fever.

He was returned to Australia in December 1918 and finally discharged medically unfit on 10th July 1919.

Robert died in 1965 and is buried in Rookwood Cemetery, Sydney.
