Bertram Daley (Service No 1020) was born in Marshall Mount, N.S.W.

Bertram enlisted when he was 23 years old; he was single, worked as a labourer, and lived at South Cundurimba, near Lismore, N.S.W.

He embarked on HMAT A64 Demonsthenes with 1st Reinforcements, 41st Battalion, on 18th May 1916.  The troops arrived in England on 20th July 1916,and after training Bertram was posted to 9th Battalion in France on 22nd September 1916.

Bertram served on the Western Front in France and Belgium.  He was granted leave in England in September 1917 and rejoined his Battalion in Belgium in October.  On 13 October 1917 Bertram was transferred to the 1srt Division Signal Company.  

On 20th June 1918 Bertram was killed in action.  There are no details available about the circumstances of his death.

He is buried in Borre British Cemetery, France: Plot II, Row B, Grave 13.
