Harry Pepper (Service No 3102) was born in Nowra, N.S.W.

Harry enlisted with his brothers Wallace & Thomas.  Harry was single, 25 years old, worked as a bank clerk, and lived in Berry, N.S.W.

He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A68 Anchises with 7th Reinforcements, 34th Battalion, on 24th January 1917 and arrived in England on 27th March 1917.  After training Harry was sent to France on 23rd October 1917.

He served on the Western Front until he was admitted to hospital after being gassed 27th May 1918. 

Harry returned to his unit on 4th June 1918 and saw out the war without further incident.

He returned to Australia in March 1919, and was discharged on 2nd June 1919.

In 1920 he married Amy Davey.
