Albert Weir (Service No 13667) was born in Kiama, N.S.W. around 1893.  Like many Illawarra families the Weir family moved to the Northern Rivers area of N.S.W.

When Albert enlisted he was 22 years old, single, and worked a dairy farm at Clunes in northern N.S.W.;  

Albert embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A61 Kanowna with the Army Medical Corps Special Reinforcements on 29th March 1916.  He served with 3rd General Hospital in Egypt, France, Belgium and England.

On 28th August 1916 he was admitted to hospital in England with influenza.

Albert returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged on 20th September 1919.

He returned to his dairy farm and died in Lismore, N.S.W. in 1967.
