Albert Ferguson Cooper
Albert Ferguson Cooper (Service No 4248) was born in Rockhampton, Queensland around 1896.
At enlistment he was 19 years old, single, worked as a farmer, lived in Dapto, N.S.W., and had served 3 years with 37th Cadets and Militia.
Albert embarked on SS Port Nicholson with the 30th Battalion, 11th Reinforcement, on 8th November 1916. He arrived in England on 10th January 1917 and joined the 30th Battalion in France, on 22nd April 1917. Albert saw service on the Western Front until 29th September 1918, when he was wounded in action. He was evacuated to hospital in England for treatment of a gun shot wound to his right hand. Albert was returned to Australia in December 1918 and discharged on 30th March 1919.
