Thomas Hardy (Service no 10679) was born in Braidwood, NSW in 1895.

At the time of enlistment Thomas was single, 20 years of age, employed as a labourer, resided in Kiama, NSW and had previously served with 37th Infantry Cadets.

Thomas embarked on HMAT A34 - Persic with Australian Army Service Corps, 3rd Division Train,  24th Company on 30 May 1916.  He arrived in England on 25 July 1916 and then to France on 21 November 1916.

Thomas served on the Western Front and returned to Australia in June 1919 and was discharged.  In 1922 he married Cecelia Hammond and together they raised one child.

Thomas died in Kiama, NSW in 1972 and is buried in Kiama Cemetery.
