Cecil John Cash (Service No 10157) was born in Braidwood, N.S.W., in 1896.

At enlistment he was 22 years old, single, worked as a baker and had served with the Cadets. Cecil listed his father John, of Wollongong, N.S.W., as his next of kin.

Cecil embarked on HMAT A10 Karoo with the Army Service Corps 19, Reinforcement 6, on 5th May 1916. He arrived in France on 14th July 1916 and joined the 2nd Field Bakery in the field on 29th July 1916. Cecil served on the Western Front and when the war ended he took leave from 12th June 1919 until 12th September 1919 to work in England. He returned to Australia in October 1919 and was discharged on 9th January 1920.

In 1922 Cecil marriied Winifred Apolony, in Granville, N.S.W.

Cecil died in 1974.
