James Williams (Service no 6337) was born in Hampshire, England.

At the time of enlistment in Kiama, NSW, John was single, 29 years of age, employed as a quarryman and resided in Shellharbour, NSW.

John embarked on HMAT A14 - Euripides with the 13th Battalion, 20th Reinforcements on 9 September 1916. He arrived in England on 26 October 1916 and joined the 13th Battalion in France on 21 January 1917.

John saw minimal active service due to disciplary issues and was returned to Australia and discharged on 12 March 1920.

John enlisted for service during the second world war at Port Kembla, NSW on 18 April 1940 and enlisted as a private soldier (Service no N70620) with the 22nd Garrison Battalion until 19 February 1945.

John made contact with the Army in 1961 from Lidcombe State Hospital but there is no further information available.
