Charles Morgan (Service no 2028) was born in Corrimal, NSW.

At the time of enlistment Charles was single, 22 years old, employed labourer and resided in Corrimal, NSW.

Charles embarked on the HMAT A37 - Barambah with the 53rd Battalion, 3rd Reinforcements on 23 June 1916.  He arrived in England on 25 August 1916.

Charles was transferred to the 34th Battalion on 23 September 1916 and joined them in France on 15 February 1917.

On 5 June 1917 while attached to the 9th Light Trench Mortar Battery and was wounded in action.  Charles was evacuated for treatment of a gun shot wound to his left foot and returned to duty on 27 October 1917.

Charles was wounded a second time on 1 March 1918 and treated for a gun shot wound to his right hand.

Charles was returned to Australia in September 1918 and discharged on 11 April 1919.

He was living in Sydney in 1938 and died there in 1953.

Charles' brothers Richard (Service no 2000), William (Service no 2695) and Robert also served.
