John Stevens (Service No 3670) was born in Helensburgh, N.S.W. around 1899.

John enlisted in Bulli, N.S.W. when he was 18 years old; he was single and worked as a dairy farmer. 

He embarked from Sydney on board SS Canberra with 6th Light Horse Regiment, 33rd Reinforcement on 16th November 1917.  He arrived in Egypt on 21st December 1917 and joined 2nd Light Horse Regiment on 16th March 1918.  He saw service in Egypt and the Middle East.

John returned to Australia in July 1919, and was discharged medically fit on 21st January 1920, having contracted malaria; his late discharge was most likely due to his recovery. 

On 22nd January 1927 he married Elizabeth Rogers and the couple raised 2 children.

John died in 1938 in Sydney.
